Dr. Nadya Yousef

Dr Nadya Yousef is senior consultant neonatologist and deputy head of the NICU at Paris Saclay University Hospitals in Paris, France.

Dr Yousef has a broad experience in neonatology and neonatal intensive care. Special interest areas include point-of-care ultrasound and the use of simulation-based training to improve patient security and quality of care.

Dr Yousef is a pioneer in the field of neonatal lung ultrasound and has published extensively on the subject. She has taught and lectured internationally in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Dr Yousef is a founding member of the French group for pediatric lung ultrasound (GEPP), a member of the ESPNIC POCUS working group and the ESPNIC POCUS certification board. She is co-author of the international ESPNIC POCUS guidelines.

Prof. Yogen Singh

Dr. Yogen Singh is a Full Professor of Pediatrics at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, California and he has been a Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician with Expertise in Paediatric Cardiology at Cambridge University Hospitals since 2013. Prof. Singh is the Chair for ESPNIC Cardiovascular Dynamics Section and POCUS Working Group and as a lead author he has contributed to the ESPNIC hemodynamic monitoring guidelines for the use in neonates and children. He has special interest in neonatal and paediatric hemodynamics and advanced functional echocardiography imaging. He has published extensively in this field, over 50 papers and scholarly articles in the peer reviewed journals. Prof. Singh is passionate about echocardiography and point of care ultrasound (POCUS) training for the neonatal and paediatric intensivists so that they can be widely applied while making clinical decisions in emergency situations. He is the lead author for the ESPNIC Pocus guidelines.

Prof. Fiammetta Piersigilli

Dr Fiammetta Piersigilli is senior consultant neonatologist in The Cliniques Saint Luc, Brussels and associate professor at the University of Louvain. Dr Piersigilli received her medical degree from the Catholic University in Rome. She completed her PhD in Fetal and neonatal cardiology in 2005. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, United States, in 2015 on the use of metabolomics in neonatology.

 

Dr Piersigilli has a special interest in neonatal and pediatric vascular access. She founded the Neonatal European Vascular Access Team together with other European colleagues and is the chair of the ESPR vascular access group. She has given courses on vascular access in Europe, Africa and Asia. 

Dr Christian Bergek is a consultant in paediatric anaesthesia and intensive care at Queen Silvia's Paediatric Hospital in Gothenburg. During his specialty training at Linköping University Hospital he developed a great interest in ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and in parallel also an interest in vascular access in all ages -- both necessitating a high precision in needle guidance. Since his move to Queen Silvia's Paediatric Hospital he has become a leading member of the paediatric vascular access team, and also a leading paediatric anaesthetist when it comes to ultrasound technology and POCUS in general. He is also an examiner for the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia & Acute Pain Management.
